Copying a MARC Tag Map

You can base a Tag Map on an existing Tag Map in the currently open list of tags (you cannot copy a tag to a different MARC Map). When you copy a Tag Map, the system creates a new Tag Map with all of the properties and subfields of the original Tag Map. You can edit any portion of the new Tag Map.

After adding or making changes to any MARC Map, you will need to harvest any search sources that will be using that MARC Map for the changes to show up in the Searching interface.

To copy a MARC Tag Map

1 Log in to the Admin console.
2 Choose Search Configuration from the navigation pane.
3 Choose MARC Maps.
4 Do one of the following to open the tag set you want to work with:
Choose Configure MARC 21 Tags.
Choose Configure UNIMARC Tags.
5 Choose the Copy option next to the Tag Map you want to copy.
6 In the Copy Subfield Map page, change any of the options for the new Tag Map. (For more information, see Fields: Add/Edit/View/Copy Tag Map.)
7 When you have finished, choose OK.
8 Edit the copied subfields as needed.
